There’s an old idiom: “where the rubber meets the road.” It’s the moment of truth — the point at which theory is put to the test in the real world. It’s a time for demonstration, validation, and actual, quantifiable results. Meet Nathan, a man who has staked his personal and professional lives to the instant of impact.
The graduate of Duke University's Fuqua School of Business has been successfully applying his knowledge from day one. At Michelin North America, his role as Strategic Account Manager saw him handling the largest replacement-tire contract in company history, with annual sales exceeding $500 million. An accomplished competitive international distance runner with multiple course records, he developed and operated one of the highest-rated specialty running retail stores in the United States.
How would Nathan characterize himself? “I’m a person of adventure,” he says. Naturally, he’s discovered the perfect place to live out his spirit: the great outdoors. “While in college, I took a year off and moved to the Caribbean to sail boats and scuba dive. The peace and solitude I found in those adventures is the same I find today as I travel the world, hike through mountain trails, and relax at the cabin my wife’s grandfather built by hand 100 years ago in the Rockies.”
Nathan can also be found relaxing at home, in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his partner in adventure, Courtenay, their dog Teddy, and cat Lucy. The couple’s daughter, Samantha, soon to graduate from the College of Charleston with a degree in marine biology, comes to visit often.
